Trader nabbed over bag with drugs left in coffee shop

MEMBERS of the Quezon City Police District arrested a businessman who accidentally left his bag containing shabu, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia at a coffee shop in Quezon City.

QCPD Director Police Brigadier General Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. said operatives of Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) arrested Michael Vernon Lerasan, 38, of No. 4-C, Aguinaldo St., Bgy. Marilag, Project 4, when he returned to pick up a bag he accidentally dropped while in the coffee shop.

Police said the Police Station 10 received a call from ABS-CBN informing them about a brown body bag containing illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia that was left in Starbucks coffee shop at ABS-CBN, ELJ Bldg., in Eugenio Lopez Drive, Bgy. South Triangle, at around 7:56 p.m.

Lerasan, the owner of the bag had inadvertently left  it at  coffee shop and later returned to pick it up and  was arrested by the responding policemen.

Seized were one sachet of shabu, one rolled plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves and a glass tube pipe. A driver’s license under the name Michael Vernon Lerasan was also found in the bag.

The suspect was charged with violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
