A 41-year-old tricycle driver was shot dead in Tondo, Manila, yesterday morning.
The victim identified as Roland Abelido was killed on the spot. The gunman, identified only as one “Kiko Monyo,” is now being hunted down by the police.
Det. Charles John Duran, of the Manila Police District-homicide section, said the shooting took place at around 12:30 a.m. on Dandan corner San Sebastian Streets.
Investigation showed that Abelido was plying his route when the gunman approached and shot him in the head at close range.
The suspect’s alleged lookout, Jericho Cerdena, 24, was nabbed in the follow-up operation conducted by the MPD- Station 1.
An investigation is underway to establish the motive and identity of the gunman.
