TWO drug pushers were killed in shootouts with police during buy-bust operations yesterday before dawn in Caloocan City.

Caloocan police chief P/Col. Noel Flores said Alimona Radiamoda, alias “Jericho”, 38, of Riverside, Phase 12 Brgy. 88, Tala was about to hand over to a police poseur-buyer a pack of shabu at around 2:05 a.m. when he sensed the presence of policemen.

Radiamoda ran inside a house at Blk 91 Lot 4 Phase 12 Package 1, Tala, which prompted operatives to give chase while calling on him to surrender peacefully.

However, instead of surrendering, the suspect fired at the lawmen who killed him in a brief exchange of gunfire.

Earlier at around 12:45 a.m., joint elements of Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Special Operation Unit (SOU) and Caloocan Police Community Precinct (PCP) 7 conducted a buy-bust operation against a certain “Janjan” at the corner of NPC Road and Lacson Compound, Brgy. 163 Sta Quiteria after two weeks of surveillance.

Upon receiving P500 marked money as payment for a pack of shabu, Janjan realized he was dealing with an undercover police officer and drew his handgun and fired at the lawmen arresting him but missed.

Janjan was hit by the officers’ return fire but he could not be saved even with medical assistance from personnel of the Caloocan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
