A WANTED murder suspect was tracked down in Pasig City by agents of the Regional Special Operations Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office late afternoon Friday, NCRPO chief, Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said yesterday.
Suspect Fernando Herrera Fernandez, the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Rosa Samson of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 105 on March 14, 2016 was arrested along Bank Drive near corner Doña Julia Vargas Avenue in Ortigas Center, Pasig City at 5:45 p.m. Friday, said the NCRPO chief.
Eleazar said that members of the NCRPO-RSOU and the Regional Intelligence Division, in coordination with the Eastern Police District arrested the 40-year old suspect who is facing a murder case with no bail recommended.
He said that the suspect, a businessman from Tuguegarao City with a house in Bago Bantay, Quezon City is the main accused in the killing of John Pius Chavez inside a bar in Q.C. owned by the suspect on June 27, 2013.
Court records showed that around 1 a.m. of the said date, a guest relations officer at the suspect’s bar recognized the victim and his companions who were then passing in front of their establishment as the men who figured in a brawl in their area.
