AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on Tuesday arrested a suspected crime gang leader in Pangasinan following a raid in his residence which led in the seizure of a cache of unlicensed weapons, a report to PNP-CIDG director, Brigadier General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said.
CIDG Region 1 chief, Lieutenant Colonel Santiago Pascual identified the arrested suspect as Daniel Sagun, said to be the leader of the Sagun Criminal Group engaged in gunrunning activities in the 3rd and 4th districts of Pangasinan.
The official said that members of the Pangasinan CIDG and the Calasiao Municipal Police Station raided the suspect’s house in Barangay Lumbang past 7 a.m. Tuesday and arrested him after they recovered three caliber .22 Magnum revolvers, two cal. .22 rifles, a cal. .38 revolver, 50 rounds of assorted live ammunition and a magazine.
