Woman uses panty to sneak shabu in QC jail

A woman who was previously jailed for six years for illegal drugs faces another drug charge after she was caught with shabu which she hid in her underwear and tried to sneak it in at the Quezon City Jail yesterday.

Acting Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Colonel Ronnie S Montejo, identified the suspect as Leslie Hernandez, alias Doza, 47 years old, from Bgy. Balon Bato.

A report from Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) under Plt. Col. Louise Benjie Tremor showed that at about 10:50 a.m., Hernandez went to visit her live-in partner who was jailed at the Quezon City Jail located at K 3rd St., Bgy. Kamuning.

After she presented herself to body frisking, the duty jail officer noticed something unusual in her underwear, hence, she was subjected to a strip search. Recovered was a medium sized plastic sachet of undetermined quantity of suspected shabu kept in a panty liner.

The suspect was immediately arrested and turned over to the nearby PS 10 for filing of a drug case.

Meanwhile, Batasan Police Station (PS 6) under Plt. Col. Joel Villanueva arrested Rimond Torrena, 38, Jun Elezaldy Bacunawa, 30, and Anthony Mamaril, 27, all from Bgy. Commonwealth, at about 1 a.m., yesterday.

Police were conducting Oplan Sita when they flagged down the suspects on a motorcycle for not wearing protective helmets. When frisked, Torrena yielded a sachet of shabu. Police also seized a smash motorcycle with plate No. 4330 OM from the suspects.

The suspects were charged with violation of R.A. 9165 while the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the Crime Laboratory Office.
