A 21-year-old construction worker who allegedly engaged in a heated altercation with one of the guest relation officers (GROs) was badly beaten by bouncers of a KTV bar before dawn yesterday in Valenzuela City.

Mark John Soberano was rushed by his companion to Valenzuela City Medical Center where he was placed under observation and was at present still unconscious while one of the suspects, Evander Bautista, 22, bouncer/waiter, was arrested by joint elements of Valenzuela Police Community Precinct (PCP) and Station Investigation Unit (SIU) in his residence at 10 A1 Yellowbell St., Bgy. Malinta.

Valenzuela police chief P/Col. Carlito Gaces said the incident happened at around 3 a.m. inside Ever Green KTV and Restobar located at 326 MacArthur Highway, Malinta.

Case investigator P/Cpl. Kenneth Pacheco said that earlier, while Soberano and his companion Jeffrey Belicario, 37, of Blk 48 Longos, Malabon City were inside the KTV bar, the victim engaged in a heated altercation with one of the GROs.
The commotion caught the attention of other customers until Bautista and several other unidentified men took turns in mauling Soberano.

Belicario told Cpl. Pacheco that he tried to intervene but decided to back off to avoid being beaten.
