Worker beaten to death after heated argument

A construction worker was beaten to death by his co-worker 24 years younger than him following a heated argument Sunday evening in Malabon City.

Danny Tumulag, 42, stay-in construction worker at 7 Allan St. Gabriel Subdivision, Bgy. Hulong Duhat succumbed to massive head and body injuries while being rushed to Ospital ng Malabon while the suspect, Jericho Baisa, 18, and his cohort, Norwen Magboo, 19, were arrested by police in a follow-up operation.

Malabon police homicide investigators P/Cpl. Joenel Claro said the victim and the suspects, together with other workers, were having a drinking session at the construction site at around 6:45 p.m. when a heated argument ensued between the two.

To avoid trouble, the victim decided to return to their barracks, not knowing that Baisa surreptitiously followed him, and treacherously punched him in the jaw causing him to fall on the pavement.

Baisa continued to throw punches and even banged the victim’s head on the cemented pavement.
