Young boys rob bus conductor of earnings

SIX young boys staged a robbery on a passenger bus and carted away the cellular phone and earnings of the bus conductor yesterday before dawn in Caloocan City.

Elements of Caloocan Police Community Precinct (PCP) 1 who were patrolling at the Bonifacio Monument Circle in a mobile car arrested two of the six suspects aged 16 and 17 after passengers of AC Trans Bus heading towards Baclaran from Malanday sought their help at around 4 a.m.

Caloocan police chief Col. Noel Flores said Mark Antony Suva, 35, bus conductor and resident of No. 1066 DM Compound, Heroes Del 96 St. in Bgy 73, was at the back seat of AC Trans Bus and counting their whole day earnings when six young boys seated near him declared a heist upon reaching Bonifacio Monument Circle.

Suva tried to resist but he was beaten up by the young suspects before they forcibly took his mobile phone and cash  amounting to P4,000. The suspects immediately alighted on Rizal Avenue Ext.

Passengers of the bus who witnessed the incident sought the assistance of Cpl. Aguinaldo and Cpl. Salagma of Mobile Car N191 that resulted in the arrest of the two minors.

Police failed to recover the stolen mobile phone and  money  apparently passed on to the three young boys who managed to escape.

Taxi driver robbed, killed

54-year-old taxi driver was found dead in his cab with stab wounds in the neck, body and face Wednesday evening in Pasay City.

Pasay City police chief Col. Bernard Yang said Edgardo Egan, of No. 696 Block 2, Nueve de Pebrero, Mandaluyong City, was discovered by roving barangay watchmen already lifeless inside Elpa Taxi parked at the corner of F.B. Harrison Street and Gotamco Street. in Bgy. 3, at around 9:30 p.m.

Police said the dash cam installed in the cab and the victim’s cellular phone were missing but his personal belongings, including his earnings were intact.

The victim’s live-in partner Jacqueline Cabos told police that Egan had no known enemy but she revealed to the police that prior to the incident, Egan told her that he wanted to look for another job since he had a misunderstanding with someone in their company.

Police said they are looking at all possible angle, including personal grudge or thrill killing but they are not discounting the  robbery as the motive behind the killing.
