PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief, General Debold M. Sinas on Friday led the simultaneous donning of rank and oath-taking of 25,357 police officers and men who were promoted to the next higher rank nationwide.
The newly-promoted policemen are composed of,151 Police Commissioned Officers and 23,386 Police Non-Commissioned Officers who passed all the qualification standards for the 2020 Continuous and Regular Promotion Program effective December 16 and December 29, 2020, respectively.
In Camp Crame, the PNP chief officially conferred the promotion to 331 PNP personnel assigned at the PNP National Headquarters, The rest of the promotes from the 17 Police Regional Offices took their oath of office before their respective Regional Directors.
“Keep in mind that with the new rank comes an even greater responsibility to serve and protect our people. Do your best and be exemplary examples of law-abiding citizens. As men in uniform, that is your mandate,” Sinas told the newly-promoted police officers.
“Bring with you a deeper commitment to our ideals and renewed sense of service; remember that your authority to lead comes with the rank that you hold. Effective leadership must be founded on professional competence, the ability to inspire others, and to lead by example,” he added as he challenged the promotes to move forward in 2021 with even more dedication.
The regular promotion program ensures streamlined rank structure of the entire 220,00-strong police organization according to the staffing pattern approved by the National Police Commission, said PNP spokesperson, Brigadier Gen. Ildebrandi N. Usana.
