A low 28 percent or 76 out of 269 police lieutenant colonels passed the Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) written examination conducted by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) held in Quezon City, Cebu City and Davao City last August 25 .
Napolcom vice chairman Rogelio Casurao said after hurdling the first assignment, the passers are now qualified and shall proceed to the next and final phase which is the validation interview.
The validation interview is set on November 23 and 24 at the Napolcom office in Quezon City.
“Only examinees who obtained 50% correct answers in the Written Examination Phase are qualified to proceed to the Validation Interview Phase; and only those who got outstanding rating in the Interview Phase shall be conferred the PES Eligibility Certificate during the PESE Conferment Rites,” Casurao said.
PES Eligibility is one of the requirements for promotion to the third-level ranks of Police Colonel, Police Brigadier General, Police Major General, Police Lieutenant General and Police General.
The PESE examination has two phases and is composed of analytical questions on police leadership and police values to test the competence, skills and mettle of future leaders of the PNP.
