THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) yesterday named 18 universities in Metro Manila where the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army Terrorist Group (CNTG) allegedly recruit students to join the plan to oust President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
AFP Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Brig.Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. said the rebel and terrorist groups were able to penetrate almost all schools as part of their effort to strengthen their forces by recruiting students.
“Halos lahat school napasok nila,” Parlade said.
Among these schools are University of the Philippines (UP) -Diliman, UP-Manila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) - Sta Mesa, Ateneo de Manila, La Salle, University of Sto. Tomas (UST), Adamson University, Far Eastern University (FEU), University of the East (UE)-Recto, UE-Caloocan, Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), Earist- Eulogio Amang Rodriguz, San Beda, Lyceum, University of Makati, Caloocan City College, University of Manila and Philippine Normal University (PNU).
Parlade believes that management of these schools and universities are not aware that their schools were already penetrated by the terrorists group.
“Posible hindi alam ng school officials na CPP na nagkukumpas, except sa mga schools na notorious sa school activism,” Parlade said.
Parlade said the rebel group used film showings to recruit students.
He said the rebels show to the students the dark years of martial law to incite them to rebel against the government.
He added that the rebel groups project to the students that PRRD is the new Marcos.
“May ongoing film showing sila about dark years of Martial Law sa mga class to incite students to rebel against the government while projecting PRRD as the new Marcos,” Parlade explained.
