BSP head tells Scouts: Don’t panic
AMID the growing global restlessness about the news saying that a new strain of virus has been discovered in London, Boy Scouts of the Philippines Secretary General Rogelio S. Villa Jr. reminded all Scouts and Scouters to “stay calm.”
“Please don’t panic as fake social media news would proliferate around in the next few days. Stay calm and wait for government announcements about this latest development,” he said in a message.
He assured professional staff, or those working at the national office and regional and local council offices that “the management would do everything to alleviate our situation,” as he asked them to “pray that our country would not be affected by the new virus.”
“As we have been doing, we shall continue living under the new normal, i.e. strictly following standard health protocols,” he said.
Villa said the staff shall also maintain vigilance in the family and the community as he reminded the staff that the COVID cases in the Philippines have no stopped and are infact, continuously rising.
”Those using public transport should never take the risk of not wearing face mask and face shield, bring your alcohol or sanitizer and wash your hands when you arrive at the office. Observe social distancing and avoid social distancing,” he said.
