BUREAU of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) chief Director Allan Iral welcomed the 25 cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Mandayug Class of 2020 as he congratulated them for the “battle they have just won.”
The 25 cadets – four of them among the top 10 of the 252 new PNPA graduates – who will join the jail management and penology profession.
In welcoming them, Iral reminded the new jail officers of the value of justice, integrity and service.
“I extend the Jail Bureau’s warmest congratulations to all 252 members of the PNPA Mandayug Class of 2020, especially the 25 jail cadets, for finally rising above the toughest four years of your lives. It was a battle for your dreams you just won,” Iral said.
The four who are among the top 10 graduating cadets are Cdt 1C Julius CaezarTarnate (Top 2), Cdt 1C Jerely D Barua (Top 5), Cdt 1C Irish Adriane G Gumaru (Top 6), and Cdt 1C Enrico Reyes (Top 7).
Cdt 1C Tarnate will be receiving the Vice Presidential Kampilan and the Chief, BJMP Kampilan while Cdt 1C Gumaru will be receiving the Journalism Kampilan.
Cdt 1C Shela Serrano will receive recognition for being the highest in public safety subjects while Cdt 1C Mark Joseph Fajardo will be awarded with Best Thesis.
All graduating cadets who belong to the top 10 will receive a Plaque of Merit.
“The BJMP is looking forward to working with you and to seeing how you flex what each of you got to offer for our country. We have high regard for you and for what you can do, especially in this time of a health crisis. So yours shall be trial by fire. But we have not a bit of doubt you would perform very well under this present pandemic’s pressure”, Iral said.
Iral who belongs to the PNPA Sandigan Class of 1994, said that the majority of new jail inspectors will be deployed in BJMP offices and jails in Visayas and Mindanao.
Iral is among the 346 other PNPA graduates currently on active service in the BJMP.
