Bong Go vows true service

May 06, 2019

FORMER Special Assistant to the President and 2019 senatorial aspirant Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Saturday thanked El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde for endorsing his senatorial bid.

“Yung malapit sa amin sa lahat ng panahon hindi lang panahon ng eleksyon,” Velarde said, when asked about the basis for the selection of the 14 senatorial candidates the El Shaddai would support.
He also said they believe these candidates would be able to address the country’s pressing problems such as poverty, drugs, and jobs, among others.

“Maraming salamat po kay Bro. Mike Velarde. Go said in an ambush interview.

Addressing the El Shaddai congregation during their Saturday Family Appointment at the Amvel City of Faith in San Dionisio, Paranaque City, Go noted that the charismatic group with an estimated more than six million members also supported President Rodrigo Duterte during the 2016 elections.

Go said the occasion reminded him of President Duterte’s personal question to God about his mission after winning in the 2016 presidential race. He said the answer, according to Duterte is to love the country and to serve the people.

Go admitted that he is not an expert on the Bible but he is certain that people who serve others receive Divine blessing and guidance.

He assured Bro. Mike and the El Shaddai congregation that in the next three years, he and President Duterte will give their all in the service of the Filipino people.

In his message to the El Shaddai flock, Bro. Mike reminded them to choose the country’s leaders wisely because the future rests in their hands.

Nasabi ko na sa inyo, the Church and the government are the same. We are the Church and we are the government,” Velarde said.

Go acknowledged the El Shaddai endorsement would likely boost his chances in the May 13, 2019 elections.

“Mas makakatulong lalo (ang El Shaddai endorsement),” said Go who has consistently remained in the upper bracket of the ‘Magic 12’ in the recent surveys on the senatorial race.

Go stressed that he attended the El Shaddai gathering not for the sake of politics but for the opportunity to join their celebration.

On his plan to serve the people, Go said he would provide all the necessary support for the programs and policies of President Duterte, particularly the campaign against criminality, corruption and illegal drugs.
