THE machinery of the so-called “dilawan” manufactured fake news anew after an online news site reported the other day that Justice Benjamin Caguioa is allegedly being forced by majority of the Supreme Court to favor the protest of Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos against Leni Robredo.
This was stressed yesterday by a Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) ‘insider’ who has knowledge on the developments regarding Marcos’ petition against Robredo which the Supreme Court, acting as PET, has been hearing for three years.
According to the report of the said news website, Caguioa who is the “ponente” or justice-in-charge of Marcos’ protest, “is under intense pressure from the SC majority to favor Marcos’ poll protest vs VP Robredo.”
“Ang intension ng mali-maling ulat ay upang sirain ang integridad ng SC justices na ang husga ay hindi tugma sa rekomendasyon ni Caguioa at lagyan ng duda ang impartiality ng mga ito,” the PET insider revealed.
The PET insider dared Caguioa to reply to the online news report and confirm if colleagues at the PET are forcing him to favor Marcos’ petition against Robredo.
Caguioa was also dared to name names to erase any public doubt on a possible anomalous resolution of the Marcos’ protest against the perceived cheating supposedly resorted to by Robredo in the 2016 vice presidential contest.
“Kung manahimik lang si Caguioa at hindi siya tutugon sa mapanirang bintang ay malinaw na ‘fake news’ ang inilabas ng nasabing news website at obyus na galing ang nasabing fake news sa kampo ni Robredo kasi siya ang magbibenepisyo sa gawa-gawang balita,” added the PET insider.
The PET insider said proof that such fake news came from the camp of the so-caled “dilawan” was the rally held yesterday by those who claimed to be Robredo supporters in front of the Supreme Court as the protest action supposedly pressured the PET justices to concur with the decision that will be handed by Caguioa on the Marcos poll protest included in the en banc session agenda yesterday.
According to the PET insider, Robredo’ s camp fears that Caguioa failed to convince majority of the PET that the decision or resolution that he will recommend is correct, unbiased and has integrity, and will end the more than three-year complaint regarding the massive cheating during the 2016 vice presidential race.
