Caloocan mayor vows support for Duterte

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte led the celebration of 156th anniversary of the birth of Gat. Andres Bonifaco at the Bonifacio Monument Circle on Saturday in Caloocan City.

The president was greeted by city officials, led by Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan, Congressman Dale “Along” Malapitan and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod upon his arrival in Bonifacio Monument Circle at around 4:30 p.m.

“Tunay na pinagpala ang lungsod ng Caloocan dahil sa ating pag-alaala ngayong taon sa kagitingan ni Gat Andres Bonifacio ay kapiling natin ang ating mahal na Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” Mayor Malapitan said in his speech as he expressed his warm appreciation to the President for attending the celebration.

During his speech, President Duterte mentioned his deep affection to the people of Caloocan city who supported and voted for him during the presidential election.

“Kayong mga taga-Caloocan, mahal ko kayo. Ipinanalo niyo ako dito,” President Duterte said.

For his part, Mayor Oca assured that the local government of the city of Caloocan will always support and stand behind the President on all his ideas and intention to give the Pilipino people a good quality of life.

“Makakaasa po kayo na tayo ay palaging kaisa ng Pangulo sa mga programa at serbisyo para sa ating mga mamamayan,” Mayor Oca said.

Also present during the celebration were NHCP Chairman Rene Escalante, AFP chief Noel Clement, Gat Andres Bonifacio’s grandson Paolo Bonifacio and other national and local officials.
