CONVICTED murderer former governor Zaldy Ampatuan is already in the custody of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) along with the 41 others who were also found guilty of murdering 57 persons in the infamous Maguindanao massacre.
According to Chief Insp. Xavier Solda, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson, Ampatuan was immediately transferred to the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) in Muntinlupa after all his papers were processed.
Solda said that Ampatuan was in a “manageable” condition even after the verdict was handed down sentencing him to reclusion perpetua for the massacre that included 32 mediamen.
Ampatuan was in a hospital due to a heart ailment a day before the promulgation of the decade-long murder case.
The BuCor takes over responsibility for the former Maguindanao governor ’s medication.
