CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon has ordered the immediate relief of a police official from his post after he was reportedly involved in the rape of a woman who was arrested for violation of a provincial curfew ordinance.
De Leon said the 24-year-old female accused Lt. Jimmy Fegcan, a member of the San Miguel Police Police Station in Bulacan of raping her in the dawn of October 28, inside the barracks of the suspect.
“I ordered his immediate relief pending the investigation being conducted. We will not condone this misdemeanor and appropriate charges will be filed against him, both administrative and criminal if warrants,” the PRO3 director said.
“Disciplining and dismissing erring police personnel shows efforts of the PNP in removing bad eggs in the police force in line with our Chief PNP Gen. Camilo Cascolan’ss Pulis Ko’y Respetado, Responsble at Disiplinado program and that the rule of law does not distinguish rank, position or popularity whether victim or respondent in the PNP organization. This is a clear manifestation of our keen determination to remove misfits among the ranks of our organization,” De Leon added.
The suspect is temporarily detained at the San Miguel MPS and awaiting inquest proceedings for allegedly violating Republic Act No.8353 or Anti- Rape Law.
