Malacañang assured that the mayors who were “missing in action” in their respective cities and towns during the onslaught of typhoon “Ompong” will be given “due process” as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) launched an investigation on their absence.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the mayors were already given the chance to explain their alleged absence as the typhoon ravaged their localities.
The DILG did not disclose the names of the mayors pending results of an investigation. Roque also refused to identify the mayors.
On Wednesday, Roque said the mayors who were missing in action as during Ompong must be fired.
