Don’t rock Senate boat, Sotto cautions

Vicente Sotto III

SENATE President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III warns that the minority bloc may swell in numbers if the current leadership in the Senate will be changed according to the agenda of the incoming new senators.

“This is the highest approval rating mula 1987 up to present baka pag nilikot mo lumaki ang minority. Yun ang mabigat, magkamali,” Sotto said in an interview with DWIZ.

Sotto also expressed the possibility of encountering problems in pursuing the legislative agenda of the Duterte administration if the Senate leadership is shaken.

The Senate leader claimed that currently despite having a majority and minority groups, there is a harmonious relationship between senators who help one another in pursuing their causes.

“One mistake may break all. So far so good, okay ang leadership namin, yung minority cordial kami, pag nalikot baka ang last 3 years maging lameduck ang administration,” Sotto added.

Administration ally and former Senate President Koko Pimentel agreed with Sotto insisting that he sees no reason to change the Senate leadership.

“Supportive naman si SP Sotto sa admin. Kaming PDP-Laban 5 kami. Kailangan natin ng 13 to elect SP.
