LEGAZPI City -- The P20-million bounty given by President Rodrigo Duterte, who increased the reward money in the Batocabe-Diaz murder case to P 50 million, was handed-over to the Philippine National Police, Atty. Justin Batocabe, son of the slain AKO-BIKOL Party-list Representative Rodel Batocabe said.

The young Batocabe said the reward money was handed by the President after whistle-blower Emmanuel Judavar and four other suspects-turned-state witnesses confessed to knowing the plan of Batocabe’s assassination.

Judavar, who opted not to participate in the actual killing, is getting the biggest share of the reward money.

The other “witnesses” who gave vital information in the slaying identified as Christopher Naval, alias “Tuping”; Danilo Muella, alias “Manoy Dan”; Emmanuel Rosello, alias “Boboy”;  and Jaywin Babor, alias “Gie,” will receive part of the cash bounty, except the two gunmen -- Henry Yuson alias, “Romel” and Rolando Arimado, alias “RR.”

The remaining P30 million bounty provided by AKO-BIKOL Party-list, Congress and the Albay provincial government will be reserved for future witnesses that will surface during the case trial, the Batocabe’s son said.

Meanwhile, Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo denied he was the “brains” in the Batocabe-Diaz slay.

In a press conference at Mayor Baldo’s residence in Bgy. Tagas, Daraga, Baldo appealed to President Duterte for a fair investigation of the case.
