PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will be conducting his own investigation into the supposed release of convicted ex-Calauan mayor Antonio Sanchez and the release of others convicted of heinous crimes and “definitely heads will roll,” Senator Bong Go said yesterday.

“Sabi ni Pangulong Duterte, paiimbestigahan niya ito, definitely heads will roll…Ang Pangulo ay mag-iimbestiga ng kanyang sarili kung meron ba talagang korapsyon,” Go, former presidential assistant, told reporters after the hearing.

“Antayin na lang natin yan. Nagkausap kami ni Pangulo kagabi, sinabi po nya papaimbestigahan n’ya,” he added.

Asked if he thinks Bureau of Corrections director Nicanor Faeldon should be held liable for the controversy, Go said not only Faeldon but all those who handled the documents.

“May pananagutan po, not only Faeldon but kung sino ang dinaanan ng papel. Very inconsistent ‘yung sinasabing sino ang pumirma. Lahat ng pumirma ay dapat managot bakit nila pinayagang i-release ang mga (convicted ng) heinous crimes,” he said.

He said he is disappointed not only with Faeldon but with the system being implemented in BuCor.

Asked if the President still trusts Faeldon, the senator said he cannot say yet.

“Si Presidente lang makakasagot pero sa takbo ngayon papapanagutin ng Pangulo,” he said.

The Senate Blue Ribbon and Justice committees resume its hearing on the controversy today.
