PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte slammed Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, after Peter Joemel Advincula, alias Bikoy, accused the fiercest administration critic of involvement in supposed destabilization efforts.
In a speech in Davao City, Duterte said Trillanes is shameless, abusing his position as senator.
“Anong ginawa mo? Binaboy mo ang Senado. And you use that power to run after people,” he said.
The President further claimed that Trillanes is using dummies to hide his ownership of cars and other properties.
Trillanes was the least wealthy among the senatos in 2017, declaring a net worth of P6.87 million.
Reached for comment, Trillanes just shrugged off the President’s tirades.
Henyo ka talaga, Duts,” he added.
Duterte’s pronouncements came on the same day Peter Joemel Advincula, the man claiming to be the hooded figure “Bikoy” in the anti-Duterte videos, took back his accusations regarding the involvement of some members of the First Family and their associates in the illegal drug trade.
Advincula then pointed to Trillanes and the Liberal Party as the brains behind the videos.
Trillanes denied Advincula’s allegations, calling the development as “another ploy of the administration to harass the opposition.”
Moreover, the senator said he is consulting with his lawyers on the appropriate charges to be filed against Advincula.
