Duterte’s, other state workers’ pay hike delayed

January 13, 2019

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will get a P102,000 pay increase when the fourth and the last installment of the wage hike for government employees is implemented, a radio report said Sunday.

A report said from his present P298,000 monthly salary, the President’s pay will climb to P399,739.
The lowest paid government employee will have a P1,000 increase in his monthly salary.

But the implementation of the wage hike for government workers is still on hold as Congress has not yet approved the proposed national budget for 2019.

Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno earlier said that the pay increase will be given to government employees in February.

He also said that Congress already vowed to prioritize the proposed national budget for 2019 when session resumes in the middle of January.
