Former traffic czar appointed to Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board

February 01, 2019

FORMER Traffic Czar and Highway Patrol Group Director Antonio Gardiola Jr., is now one of the members of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Gardiola was named by President Rodrigo Duterte last January 24 to replace former board member Atty. Aileen Lizada, who was appointed as Commissioner for the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Gardiola headed the Philippine National Police's Highway Patrol Group from 2016, deploying cops to Metro Manila's main roads to help manage traffic.

He was also named chief of the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic by Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade that same year.

The transportation sector welcomed the appointment of Gardiola as the new the Board members together with Chairman Martin Delgra and Engineer Ronaldo Corpus.
