IF President Diosdado Macapagal-Arroyo were alive today he might also appeal to the Filipinos to support the present government, said Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who from the start of her leadership in the House of Representatives has vowed to fully support the agenda of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Arroyo led her family and friends in celebrating the 108th birthday of the late President Macapagal in Lubao, Pampanga.
“He would be telling the Filipinos today let’s help our country,” Arroyo said in an interview when asked what President Macapagal would tell the Filipinos today.
The former president now Pampanga Representative said the current President needs all the support from the Filipinos in order to improve the country.
“The President has been president two years, let’s support him and give him a chance,” she said.
When she was elected Speaker of the House Arroyo promised to push through with the legislative agenda of Duterte.
Under her leadership, the TRAIN 2 or TRABAHO Bill was immediately passed, the same with other bills being pushed by Malacanang.
“Ang ating pangulo ay dalawang taon pa lang nakaupo, suportahan natin sya. Bigyan natin sya ng pagkakataon na masolusyunan yung mga sinisikap nyang masolusyonan,” Arroyo added.
