SPEAKING at the 72nd founding Anniversary celebration of Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao yesterday, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said that both he and President Rodrigo Duterte are focused on delivering key programs that will help sustain continued development in Mindanao.
“Sa ngayon, nakatutok ang Pangulo, ang gobyerno nakatutok dito sa Mindanao, sa iba’t ibang proyekto,” Go said.
Go added the Build, Build, Build program of the current administration has already accomplished milestones all over the country and that the Mindanao’s railway transportation system is already in the pipeline.
“’Yung Build, Build, Build program natin, kita niyo naman ang mga highways natin ngayon, pati ‘yung mga tulay, and hopefully po ‘yung Mindanao railway,” Go added.
Go is also determined to pursue the institutionalization of the Malasakit Center initiative by filing Senate Bill 199, also known as the Malasakit Center Act of 2019, last July 2.
“Ako naman, tuloy-tuloy naman ang expansion ng Malasakit Centers at (isinusulong ko ang institutionalization) ng Malasakit Centers all over the country,” Go said.
Go bared there are already 40 Malasakit Centers in the country, including the ones in Cotabato and Zamboanga cities in Mindanao. He also confirm a plan to have one in Maguindanao is already in the works.
“Magkakaroon din po kayo rito sa probinsya ng Maguindanao at, rest assured po, sisiguraduhin kong mapalapit sa inyo ang mabilis, maayos at maaasahang serbisyong medikal,” Go said.
The particular bill, backed by several members of the Congress already, provides there is no need for patients or their families to go out of the hospital and find ways to pay for hospital bills. The Malasakit Center bill seeks to put together all government agencies offering financial assistance to indigent and poor patients in just one office in public hospitals in the country.
“’Di na kayo kailangan lumabas pa ng ospital (para maghanap ng suporta para sa hospital bills) kung maisabatas na po itong Malasakit Center,” Go said.
“Nasa loob na po ng government hospital ‘ung iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno, apat (na ahensya) – PCSO, PhilHealth, DoH at DSWD at magtutulong tulong po sila, mag-aambag-ambag po sila para sa mga hospital billing,” Go explained.
Go’s target is to bring down to lowest amount possible, if not zero hospital billing, the out-of-pocket expenses of especially poor and indigent Filipinos.
“Target po nito ay zero balance billing at, ako, ayoko pahirapan ang pasyente, gusto kong mabilis na serbisyo medikal para sa bawat pasyente na Pilipino,” He said.
Go thanked the people of Sultan Kudarat for their full support and confidence, especially during the midterm elections and that he has nothing else to ask but to give back to the people, most especially to the Muslim community, who trusted him and his capability to serve.
“Higit sa lahat, ang gusto kong ibalik sa inyo ay ang serbisyong ora mismo, panindigan ang aming panata bilang tagapaglingkod at patuloy na suportahan si Tatay Digong sa kampanya nito laban sa illegal na droga, kriminalidad at korapsyon,” Go said in his speech, adding that just like Sultan Kudarat the hero, “isang ehemplo po para sa akin ang kanyang pamumuno dito sa lugar ninyo. Kaya tulad niya, magseserbisyo ako sa inyo ng may tapang, malasakit at buong puso.”
