FOR the Philippine Senate, Gray is the color of the universe.
This was the collective reaction of the members of the Senate as they congratulated Catriona Gray for bagging the fourth Miss Universe crown for the Philippines.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III praised Gray for her astounding answer in the Question and Answer portion of the pageant where she showed intellect paired with beauty and elegance.
“Congratulations of course. Her answer was superb. I think that, and the outstanding way she carried her gown, was the final win. Her personality was there all along,” Sotto said.
Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri agreed with Sotto saying that Gray showed the goodness of her heart when she mentioned the poor children of Tondo, Manila in her final answer.
“You showed the world what a truly empowered woman could do to help so many. Congratulations once again!” Zubiri said.
Senator Grace Poe said that the whole nation is with Gray in her fulfillment of her task as the new queen of the Universe.
“A woman of style, substance and brave heart deserves the crown. Thank you for flying the Philippine flag high,” Poe said.
“She represents all our collective values and aspirations as a people. We are proud of her. I wish her all the best. Mabuhay ang kagandahan at talino ng Pilipina,” was the reaction of Senate Pro Tempore Ralph Recto on Gray’s triumph.
Senators Sonny Angara, Bam Aquino, Joel Villanueva, Cynthia Villar and JV Ejercito also sent their congratulations to Gray.
“We thank Catriona for representing the country well and making us proud with her finish. She represents the beauty and intelligence of Filipinas all over the world and indeed the universe. Mabuhay!” Angara said.
“Thank you for showing the world that Filipino beauty is intelligent, creative and full of heart,” Aquino’s message read.
“Once again, a Filipina beauty has captured the hearts of the whole universe. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Catriona Gray not only for bringing home the Miss Universe crown but also for giving our country so much pride and recognition,” said Villanueva.
“I commend her for sending out a very powerful message of looking for opportunities to help even in the most desperate situations,” Villar said.
