A HOUSE leader yesterday expressed elation over the better approval rating received by the House of Representatives.
House Majority Leader and Capiz Rep. Fredenil Castro credited the higher rating to the good leadership of Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Based on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, the House of Representatives got positive 47 percent approval rating or 4 points higher compared to 43 percent last December 2018.
“The increase in high approval rating of the House of Representatives is much appreciated by its members considering the negative accusations thrown in its path months before,” Castro said.
According to Castro, political mudslinging will never be an obstacle as the House leadership “always expects us to buckle down to work and do what we think is beneficial to all.
“We are energized to see that our citizens appreciate uprightness in our work and our efforts to become transparent on how every centavo will be spent,” Castro said.
“Our determination to do what is right was also buoyed by the recent upgrade of our credit ratings by S&P given to President Duterte’s governance as we have always been partners with the Executive on fiscal stability and economic reforms,” he added.
Castro also said that the Lower Chamber’s upward ratings are not about the Representatives but about the satisfaction of hearing the voice of approval from the constituencies that they represent.
