SENATOR JV Ejercito yesterday said he will use the name Estrada in his election nickname as he filed his certificate of candidacy to seek a second term.
Ejercito told the media that he would use “JV Estrada” just as a campaign nickname.
JV earlier said not using his father’s screen name had affected his performance on surveys on senatorial candidates and will most probably affect his reelection bid.
Ejercito, who ran under the United Nationalist Alliance in 2013, will be running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition in the 2019 elections.
He explained that he left the political party of his father, former President and incumbent Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, formed with former Vice President Jejomar Binay during the 2013 polls over “differences in principles” with some party members.
Last week, he took his oath before Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, leader of the NPC.
