SPEAKER Alan Peter Cayetano on Tuesday dared Vice President Leni Robredo to present a clear program to address the country’s drug problem.
Cayetano also expressed support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s challenge for Robredo to lead the campaign against illegal drugs for six months.
“Susuportahan ko ‘yung challenge ng ating Pangulo at susuportahan ko ang Vice President if she takes the reigns for six months. But ipakita muna niya at ipaliwanag anong programa niya,” Cayetano told reporters in an ambush interview at Mercado del Lago floating restaurant in Taguig City before visiting the Taguig City Jail. “Kasi madaling magsabi eh, these flowery words like ‘health-based approach.’ What’s that health-based approach?”
“Kung may baril ‘yung kaharap mo na nagbebenta ng droga at nandun sa school at hinuli ng pulis ano’ng gagawin ng pulis? Sabihin, ‘pare mag-vitamins ka muna’?” Cayetano said.
“Kung panay protesta, panay restating of the problem, panay saying iba ang approach mo, wala kang alternative, it’s not helpful sa discussion,” said Cayetano. “So sa ating Bise Pangulo: make your proposal very clear. Define, what is your health-based approach? And how will it apply to elementary, high schools, how will it apply sa mga nanlalaban? Sa judges, mayors, governors who are into drugs?”
