Lift Mindanao martial law, solon urges Duterte

A MILITANT solon is asking the Duterte administration to lift martial law in the entire Mindanao.

Bayan Muna Rep. Eufemia ‘Ka Femia’ Cullamat said the people in the region are now becoming more miserable.

According to Cullamat, for the past three years, martial law in Mindanao has not helped uplift the living condition of the Mindanaoans as well as the economy of the region.

“These are the reasons why we are calling for the immediate lifting of martial law in the whole Mindanao region.  Its imposition did not solve the economic, political and cultural problems of the people. Instead, it worsened the human rights situation of the people in the region,” Cullamat said.

Earlier, reports said that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is requesting the government to lift martial law in the city.
