A MORE active campaign against illegal drugs and the restoration of wide-ranging free ‘from womb to tomb’ services in Manila. These are just some of the things that former Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim said the people of Manila should expect from him once he is able to return as the city Mayor.
Lim said this at the sidelines of the mass oath-taking of over 5,000 members of his KKK (Kapayapaan, Kaunlaran at Katarungan) party before PDP-Laban national president and former Senate President Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III, where he also thanked his supporters who graced the affair, among them Bureau of Corrections chief Ronaldo ‘Bato’ dela Rosa, Local Governments Undersecretary Martin Dino, Makati City 1st DistrictRep. Monsour del Rosario, PDP- Laban Manila Council President Penelope Belmonte who is also executive director of the National Parks Development Committee, PDP-Laban Manila vice president for NCR Engr. Salvador Ty, Maguindanao Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu (2nd District) and PDP-Laban public information officer Ron Munsayac. In an interview, Lim also called on his supporters to do everything within their means to help the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte succeed.
Apart from having the same advocacies such as clean governance, Lim and Pimentel both expressed confidence that the KKK and PDP-Laban are one in the desire to give all the free services possible for the citizens of Manila. Lim is noted for having introduced six city hospitals in each of Manila’s six districts, all providing free services and the establishment of free college education when he built the City College of Manila (now Universidad de Manila).
Meantime, Lim rallied support behind the government’s campaign against illegal drugs and corruption.
Lim also said that as he had stated in previous interviews when he and Duterte were both mayors, he still believes that ‘kung may 20 Mayor Duterte lang sa Pilipinas ay siguradong aangat ang bansa at uunlad.’
In that aspect, Lim assured that he is one with Duterte and said that his service record will speak for itself.
