2 aliens nabbed for Malaysian’s kidnap.
AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) on Tuesday afternoon rescued unharmed a kidnapped Malaysian national and arrested two of his Southeast Asian abductors during an anti-kidnapping operation in Angeles City, PNP-AKG director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo announced yesterday.
In a report to PNP chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, Estomo said kidnapping victim Lee Jun Sheng was rescued unharmed in an Angeles City dormitory where he was held captive by the suspects.
The two suspects were arrested shortly after at the SM City Clark Parking A. in Bgy. Malabanias, Angeles City 3 p.m. Monday.
Estomo said members of the AKG Luzon Field Unit led by Colonel Villaflor S. Bannawagan, in coordination with the Mabalacat Municipal Police Station conducted the rescue operation which led to the arrest of Indonesian national Rano Herman and Malaysian national Ong Way Plak.
According to the PNP-AKG director, they launched the operation amid a complaint from the Embassy of Malaysia represented by Consul Abdul Samad Ismail regarding the case of Sheng.
It turned out that the kidnappers demanded an additional 12,000 RMB ransom from the family of the victim in exchange for his safe release. The exact amount of the initial ransom money paid by the victim’s family is still being investigated by the PNP-AKG.
During investigation, the kidnappers demanded that the ransom money be delivered to them at the SM City Clark parking lot. Estomo said a representative of the victim’s family identified as Bong Chan Hoo delivered the money to the suspects then gave the go-signal to undercover officers who promptly arrested the two after received the ransom.
Estomo said a Filipino driver of the two suspects escaped and is still being hunted as of press time. The suspect’s identity was temporarily withheld pending his arrest.
“During questioning, the suspects led my men to Room 1416 of the Sun Valley Dormitory in Angeles City in Pampanga where the victim was rescued unharmed,” he added.
Recovered during the anti-kidnapping operation were a white Toyota Hi-Ace van with plate no. NDP-4656 said to have been used by the suspects in abducting the victim, several identification cards and other personal belongings of the two arrested suspects.
Estomo said the two suspects are now being held at the PNP-AKG lock-up facility in Camp Crame where charges for kidnapping with serious illegal detention are being readied against them.
