GOVERNMENT investigators have been given until Monday to come up with initial findings on the alleged “Red October” plot to destabilize the Duterte administration.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra revealed this even as he warned “plotters” to think twice lest “the full force of the law will descend upon those who would destroy the government through unlawful means.”
“The probe started immediately after talks about the plot started circulating.”
“We take this matter seriously as ‘Red October’ may actually involve commission of crimes punishable under our penal laws,” Guevarra said.
Last Thursday, the National Bureau of Investigation filed illegal possession of firearms and explosives charges against six individuals tagged in a supposed plot to destabilize the government.
Charged before the Department of Justice were Ke Be I aka “Lily Ong,” Brandy S. Solinap, Victor R. dela Cruz, Bi-Lian Ke, Diosdado C. Bohol, and Ke Quiao Li aka “Sam Jany.”
They were charged with violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Act).
