ERSTWHILE Philippine National Police Human Rights Affairs Office director Colonel Alessandro Abella yesterday was designated as the new director of the PNP Women and Children Protection Center vice newly-retired Brigadier General William S. Macavinta.
PNP Director for Investigation and Detective Management Major Gen. Elmo Francis O. Sarona led the turnover of command at the WCPC office in Camp Crame.
A member of PNP Academy Class 1989, Abella will now command the main PNP unit tasked to enforce the country’s laws on the protection of women and children’s right specifically those pertaining to women and children trafficking.
Journal Group sources said that Abella will be replaced at the PNP-HRAO by Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana, currently the Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the Police Regional Office 9 in Central Visayas region.
