FROM eighty-seven, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now monitoring only 22 cops involved in drug recycling.
PNP Public Information Office (PIO) Chief Brig. Gen.Bernard Banac said in three years, the PNP managed to reduce the number of cops involved in drug recycling from 87 to 22.
He said the 22 ninja cops were under the PNP radar and were under strict monitoring.
Banac explained the movements of these ninja cops were not organized unlike other syndicates because these cops are capable of doing their own crimes.
Ninja cops are those cops recycling illegal drugs that they recovered from illegal drugs operations.
Earlier, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ( PDEA) Chief Director General Aaron Aquino revealed that there are 53 policemen in their list tagged as involved in illegal drug activities.
Because of the said controversy, PNP Chief General Oscar Albayalde will face Senate inquiry regarding the matter tomorrow, Tuesday.
