THE government is putting up a P500,000 bounty for Cebu businessman Peter Lim who went into hiding following the issuance of a warrant of arrest against him by a trial court.
“Government is also ready to give a reward of P500,000 to anyone who can give information on the exact whereabouts of accused Peter Go Lim, provided that such information will lead to the actual arrest of said fugitive,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said in a SMS to reporters.
Also, Guevarra sternly warned anyone coddling Lim that they could be prosecuted for obstruction of justice and other crimes.
The Department of Justice indicted Lim last August 10 after finding probable cause in the complaint filed by the PNP-CIDG, which was earlier dismissed by a previous panel of prosecutors.
Also charged in court were detained drug trader Kerwin Espinosa, state witness Marcelo Adorco and Ruel Malindangan.
They were accused of conspiracy for the proliferation of drugs in the country.
Recently, Guevarra called on Lim to surrender to authorities and face the drug trading conspiracy case filed against him before a Makati City regional trial court.
