THE city government of Pasay has recorded 46 of its 201 barangays as having zero cases of COVID-19, based on the monitoring and documentation by the City Health Office (CHO) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Pasay Field Office.
At the core of these 46 coronavirus-free areas are the so-called “lucky 13 barangays” which have not had even a single COVID-19 case since the beginning of the pandemic, to date while a batch of 33 other barangays were declared COVID-19-free upon their patients’ recovery leading up to August 5.
The now 46 total COVID-19-free barangays of the city are: Bgys. 12; 25; 47; 74; 78; 103; 112; 114; 140; 141; 149; 150; and 151 which comprise the “lucky 13 barangays” that have managed to keep their communities free of the virus, plus Bgys. 1; 2; 3; 6; 8; 16; 20; 21; 28; 33; 53; 56; 64; 70; 71; 73; 79; 83; 84; 87; 90; 93; 95; 101; 106; 142; 154; 157; 163; 166; 168; 180; and 195 which had COVID-19 patients before but all of these have been declared recovered already.
“This is indeed a great development and a major boost to the morale of our people especially of the LGU personnel, health workers, barangay officials, and everyone who has done his or her part to achieve this,” Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said, adding that this is the result of the strict implementation of health and safety protocols, stringent contact tracing and monitoring by the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit and the cooperation and practice of discipline by the people themselves in following guidelines.
“Through our concerted efforts, we look forward to maintaining these 46 barangays free of the virus and to having more and more of our barangays getting declared coronavirus-free in the coming days,” the mayor said.
She, thus called on all Pasayeños, to follow health and safety guidelines to curb the spread of the virus and always practice the EMI habit, which stands for “E-nsure to always wash your hands; M-ask is a must; and I-mplement physical distancing at least two meters apart.Publication Source : People's Tonight
