TWO members of Philippine Military Academy “Maringal” Class of 1988 have been named as new directors of the Philippine National Police Directorates for Intelligence and Comptrollership vice Major Generals Mariel M. Magaway and Jose Ma. Victor DF Ramos who were left incapacitated by a helicopter crash in Laguna two weeks ago which nearly killed PNP chief General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa.
Brigadier Generals Ferdinand O. Divina and Marni C. Marcos Jr. were among the senior police officials named by Gen. Gamboa to new key positions in the 205,000-strong police force in the aftermath of the March 5 chopper crash which seriously injured Magaway and Ramos, both his mistahs from PMA “Sinagtala” Class of 1986.
Both Generals Magaway and Ramos remained in critical condition as of yesterday, being taken care of by doctors at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa city.
Divina, former Police Regional Office 8 director in Eastern Visayas, was replaced by Brig. Gen. Bernabe M. Balba while named as new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police Regional Office was former PNP Headquarters Support Service director Brig. Gen. Manuel M. Abu, of PMA “Makatao” Class of 1989.
Balba was replaced as director of the Manila’s Finest by Brig. Gen. Rolando F. Miranda of PMA “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990 while designated as new PNP-HSS director or Camp Crame commander was Brig. Gen. Alexander J. Sampaga.
Balba was replaced as head of the Manila’s Finest Brig. Gen. Rolando F. Miranda, a member of PMA “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990, who used to be the Deputy Director of the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.
Designated as new PNP Deputy Director for Personnel and Records Management was Brig. Gen. Robert T. Rodriguez of PMA “Sambisig” Class of 1991 while Colonel Belli B. Tamayo of PMA “Tanglaw Diwa” Class of 1992 was named as new Executive Officer of the DPRM, a position which will earn him his star-rank.
Gen. Gamboa also named Brig. Gen. Jesus D. Cambay Jr. as the new PNP Director for Intelligence vice Brig. Gen. Edgar S. Monsalve, who was named as new PNP Deputy Director for Intelligence.
On the other hand, former National Capital Region Police Office Regional Chief Directorial Staff Brig. Gen. Danilo P. Macerin was designated as the new chief of the PNP National Operations Center under the PNP Directorate for Operations.
Macerin swapped position with Brig. Gen. Florencio T. Ortilla of PMA Class 1990.
Col. Patrick T. Villacorte was named as the new Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the Police Regional Office 6 in Western Visayas.
Also named to their new positions were Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. de Leon of PMA Class 1989, new Deputy Director for Human Resource Doctrine and Development; Brig. Gen. Joselito D. Pajarillaga, new Deputy Director for Integrated Police Operations - Northern Luzon; Brig. Gen. Adolfo B. Samala of PMA Class 1988 as new Deputy Director for Plans; Col. Nickson B. Muksan of PMA Class 1990 as Executive Officer of the DIPO-Visayas; and Col. Angeles B. Geñorga Jr, acting director of the PNP Training Service.
