THE Philippine National Police yesterday said it can account for the reward money for the Batocabe murder case.
Along with the PNP Intelligence Group, the PNP Criminal Investigation’ and Detection Group distributed to all informants and suspects/witnesses a total amount of P20 million from the Office of the President, and P13 million from Congress, said PNP spokesman Brigadier General Bernard M. Banac.
The reward money of P13 million from Congress was handed over to the Office of the PNP chief in a ceremonial turnover, he added.
Banac explained that the role of PNP chief General Oscar Albayalde was merely ministerial and definitely he has no hand in the distribution.
“We assure the public that all money is accounted for, and the PNP-CIDG and PNP-IG are ready to present and provide the details if and when Congress asks for it,” Banac said amid allegations that the reward money is missing.
