LEYTE First District congressional candidate Martin Romualdez and his wife Tingog party-list First Nominee Yedda Marie M. Kittilstvedt-Romualdez yesterday thanked their endorsers and supporters led by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio as they aired hope for positive election results in their favor.
Duterte-Carpio, chairperson of the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), endorsed Tingog’s Yedda Romualdez, the congresswoman of the First District of Leyte and chairperson of the House Committee on Accounts, and Martin Romualdez, a three-term Leyte congressman who is President of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) and Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa), as Speaker of the incoming 18th Congress.
“From the bottom of our hearts, we are thanking once again our endorsers led by Mayor Sara and all our supporters. Thank you for believing in us,” the Romualdez couple said as they ended the grueling campaign period on a positive note confident of winning their respective battles.
“We gave our very best during the campaign to win the people’s support and we are now at this stage where people vote for the leaders they want to serve the country,” the Romualdez couple stressed.
The Romualdez couple cast their votes at Polling Precinct #0480B of V&G De la Cruz Memorial Elementary School at Brgy. No.96 in Tacloban City.
Their son Andrew Julian Romualdez also exercised his right to vote at the Polling Precinct #0479A of the same school.
Mrs. Juliette Gomez Romualdez, mother of Martin Romualdez, cast her vote at San Fernando Elementary School in Tacloban City.
The Romualdez couple also called anew on the electorate to continue exercising vigilance in safeguarding their votes to protect the integrity of the 2019 midterm poll as a show of “malasakit” or compassion in the future of the Philippines.
