Romualdez hails Speaker’s high performance rating

THREE House leaders expressed elation over the good performance rating of Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.

In the Pulse Asia Ulat sa Bayan Survey for the month of September, Cayetano got 64 percent approval rating.

Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, Deputy Speaker and 1PACMAN Rep.  Mikee Romero and Anakalusugan and chairman of the House Committee on Public accounts Mike Defensor said the entire House of Representatives is very proud of Cayetano’s exemplary trust and approval rating.

“The leadership of the House of Representatives is elated with the result of the latest Pulse Asia survey showing majority of our people’s approval of the hard work done by our Speaker, Alan Peter Cayetano, in the last three months,”  Romualdez said.

“ This is the first time that Speaker Cayetano has been rated by the Filipino people through the Pulse Asia’s Ulat sa Bayan survey, and we are collectively proud of our leader’s exemplary trust and approval rating,” he added.

Because of this, Romualdez said, the Speaker will definitely prompt all members in the House of Representatives to work harder in the legislative mill in the days to come.

“Truly, nothing warms the heart of public servants more than the appreciation of our constituents,” Romualdez added.

According to Romero, the party-list groups are inspired by Cayetano’s work ethics and push for a better House of Representatives.

“With Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano’s brand of leadership, we have no reason to doubt that the House of Representatives will continue to win the hearts of Filipinos.  Sincerity, industry and loyalty to the people – traits that embody the speaker’s personality – did not go unnoticed.   He truly deserved the trust of our people.   We, the 52 members and officers of the Partylist Coalition Foundation Inc., draw inspiration from what the Speaker has done and has been doing for our nation,” Romero, president of the Party-list Coalition Foundation Inc. (PCFI), said.

For his part, Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Defensor said the Speaker’s work ethics and diligence resulted in a good trust rating from the people.

“I did not campaign for Speaker Alan Cayetano but I have to admit that his work ethics, his competence and vision for our nation has made the collective membership of the House of Representatives to work harder -- side by side with the leadership and thus the approval ratings,” Defensor stressed.

Cayetano got high trust rating in Mindanao (75 percent) and Visayas (74 percent). In National Capital Region (NCR) he got 57 percent while in the rest of Luzon he got 55 percent.

Under his leadership, the House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading the proposed 2020 national budget amounting to P4.1 trillion.

Cayetano has assured the public that the budget is pork-free and parking-free.
