FROM 87, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now monitoring only 22 cops involved in drug recycling.
This was according to PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac.
Banac said in three years, the PNP managed to reduce the number of cops allegedly involved in drug recycling from 87 to 22.
Banac explained that the ninja cops are not organized unlike drug syndicates because the lawmen are capable of going on their own.
Ninja cops recycle illegal drugs that they confiscated in legitimate anti-drugs operations.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Director General Aaron Aquino had revealed that 53 policemen are on their list of officers involved in illegal drug activities.
PNP chief General Oscar Albayalde will face a Senate inquiry into the ninja cop controversy.
