Special Action Force has new chief

PHILIPPINE National Police chief Director General Oscar D. Albayalde yesterday installed Chief Superintendent Amando Clifton B. Empiso as the new commander of the elite Philippine National Police Special Action Force vice newly-retired Director Noli G. Talino.

Empiso, a member of Philippine Military Academy “Hinirang” Class of 1987 replaced Talino, of PMA “Maharlika” Class of 1984, who retired at the age of 56.

A veteran SAF officer, Empiso was the erstwhile Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the National Capital Region Police Office. His new position will automatically qualify him for promotion to the rank of Police Director and become the 4th member of PMA Class 1987 in the PNP to be a 2-star general.

The others were NCRPO chief, Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar; PNP Director for Operations, Director Ma-o R. Aplasca; and Director Cesar Hawthorne R. Binag of the PNP Directorate for Information Communications and Technology Management.
