PRESIDENTIAL Political Adviser Secretary Francis Tolentino joined the so-called “Magic 12” as he landed 12th with 23 percent voter preference in a survey for preferred senators for the 2019 national and local elections.
Acccording to Pulso ng Pilipino survey conducted by the Issues and Advocacy Center (The CENTER) from September 23-30, Tolentino was joined by two other aspirants with also good chances of getting elected.
They were former Philippine National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa (10th, 25%) and Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos (11th, 24%).
In that survey, Sen. Grace Poe emerged number one with 62 percent voter preference over Sen. Cynthia Villar who placed second with 54 percent.
The data research organization noted that the mid-term polls will be heavily driven again by media, particularly social media platforms.
“It is evident that media played a huge role in building up the popularity of those in the Top 12 list and even in the campaign of six others who cannot be counted out as there is still a good six months more to go before Filipino voters go to the polls on May 13, 2019,” the report read.
Senatorial aspirants will also have to work on their networks on the ground for the campaign period, The CENTER said in the report.
