IF required by the court, embattled Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV is willing to go to Davao City to swear on his counter-affidavit in the libel case filed by Presidential son Paolo Duterte and Atty. Maneses Carpio.
However, Trillanes expressed concern about going to Davao City where he said he can be arrested anytime as a consequence of the revocation of his amnesty by President Rodrigo Duterte.
“I’ll cross the bridge when we get there, kung kinakailangang pumunta run (Davao), pupunta ako,” Trillanes told the Senate media.
“Ang mga legal aspect hindi ko masagot kasi ang abogado ko ang nakakaalam nyan, but sa akin kung kailangang puntahan para maayos yan, pupuntahan ko,” he added.
The Davao City Prosecutor’s Office gave Trillanes 10 days to submit his counter-affidavit on the libel charges filed against him.
The senator is now on his third week of staying inside the Senate building which has become his “safe zone”. Trillanes insists on staying inside the Senate even if there is no warrant of arrest against him because he believes that the arrest order of the President contained in Proclamation 572 is still in effect.
Meanwhile, Trillanes revealed that he has tightened the security at his Antipolo home after his family observed car riding people circling the perimeter of his house.
He has alerted the security detail of his family who are willing to defend his loved ones if necessary.
From simple harassment, Trillanes now believes that his political enemy is now making his innocent family fear for their life.
