ALREADY back in the country, radio broadcaster Erwin Tulfo has started renewing his license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) through the regular process, Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar D. Albayalde said yesterday.
According to the PNP chief, Tulfo needs to pass a neuro-psychiatric and drug tests as part of the requirements for renewing his LTOPF which expired last March 3.
“He’s in the process of renewing his LTOPF. Karapatan naman niya i-renew ‘yung kanyang LTOPF,” he said. He added that now Tulfo no longer needs to surrender his licensed firearms to the nearest police station or the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office now that he has started renewing his LTOPF
Albayalde stressed that Tulfo will be undergoing the same process being extended to other gun owners.
“Kung wala tayong makitang effort, that’s the only time na magkakaroon ng police intervention. Pero on his (Tulfo) part, in fairness naman sa kanya, he is undergoing the normal process for the renewal of his LTOPF,” he said.
