IN keeping with their commitment to serve the people, President Rodrigo Duterte and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go have been working continuously and steadfastly to improve the lives of Filipinos.
Both Tatay Digong and Kuya Bong are proving that they are the ultimate partners especially in public service and nothing would stop them from answering the call of the people.
It was no surprise therefore that on Christmas Day President Duterte opted to lead in the giving of gifts to his constituents in Davao City, instead of spending quality time with his family.
Kami na hindi naman niya mga kaanu-ano,” a teary-eyed Donita Ilustre said after receiving her gift from the President.
Reports indicated that there were at least 60,000 people who received personal gifts from the President last Christmas.
Also, last Christmas, Kuya Bong as he is fondly called by the people, attended to the needs of fire victims in various areas ,where he distributed basic needs and provided immediate assistance to the victims.
“Nandito po ako para bumati sa kanila. Mapasaya man lang sila kahit sandali. Go said in an interview.
Go also visited sick children at Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Diliman, Quezon City to provide financial assistance and equipment needed for their treatment.
He even gave away as donation the prize that his team won in a basketball tournament, especially to the young native schoolchildren.
Once elected to the Senate, Go vowed to craft a law that would provide free education and school supplies to children of indigenous groups.
Last New Year’s Eve, SAP Go also visited Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) where a Malasakit Center is stationed, to check on the condition of their beneficiaries.
To show his wide-ranging initiatives to help, he also provided members of various tricycle organizations and even balut vendors assistance to make their celebrations more complete.
Lahat ay pantay-pantay,” he said.
Kuya Bong vowed to be always at the side of the poor and the needy along with his idol President Duterte all the time.
Wala tayong iwanan,” he stressed.
